PCB failures (Such as WD PCB 2060-701453-*** (2061-701453-***)) affect thousands of hard drives every year and often result in permanent data loss. A hard drive may suddenly fail to power on, and a computer may not detect that it is plugged in. Some failed hard drives will also show up in computer BIOS with incorrect brand/model information. PCB failures can also cause physical issues such as read/write head failures, and many PCB failure symptoms overlap with the symptoms of other physical hard drive issues.

Q: Wanted: WD 2061-701453-A00 AC PCB
Hello. My WD Raptor [WD1500AHFD-00RAR1] has a burnt PCB and needs a replacement.Been looking for a replacement board but found none so far.Initially i thought that i could just buy a similar HDD and replace the board, but i later learnt that it wasn’t that easy.I would be very happy if someone had a functional PCB for me.The drive is manufactured in Malaysia.Regards Marcus
Q: WD Raptor Drive…spins, stops, repeat (Video Example Shown)
Is there any way to recover this by myself because I can’t afford the cost of professional repair ($900+) Do you think swapping out the HD’s board+bios might be a solution here? My board number is “2060-701453-000 REV A,” and I found someone selling this exact board Or is this definitely not a problem with the board? I already tried (twice) vacuum-packing the HD and sticking it in the freezer for several hours, and then putting it in the external
Q: wd740adfd (raptor) pcb swap
Hi,I’ve a wd740adfd-00nlr1 (raptor) with dead pcb (probably motor ship), there’s a short around D3, but pcb still shorted when D3 removed. Pcb is 2060-701384-002I’ve also a donor with same model & dcm, but pcb number is 2060-701453-000 revA.And another one with pcb 2060-701384-002, but model is wd3600adfd-00nlr1.I have swaped U12 chip, tried with both PCB, not working. On these models should I also swap memory chip??Is there another way to solve this DR case??
