Seagate PCB 100664987 Failure

PCB failures (Such as Seagate PCB 100664987) affect thousands of hard drives every year and often result in permanent data loss. A hard drive may suddenly fail to power on, and a computer may not detect that it is plugged in. Some failed hard drives will also show up in computer BIOS with incorrect brand/model information. PCB failures can also cause physical issues such as read/write head failures, and many PCB failure symptoms overlap with the symptoms of other physical hard drive issues.

Q: Seagate HDD ROM – what is stored on it?

I decided to set aside a small budget (low 3-digit) to get data out from a ST2000DM001 Problem At boot, the computer takes a very long time for detection phase (AHCI) and does not detect the drive In IDE mode, time spent on (not-)detecting the HDD is shorter but still many times longer than it should be The spinup and initial head activity sounds alright to me, but what do I know about HDDs (I’ll get the recording if needed, setting up the audio equipment takes a bit) I’m going to start wit
