The WD hard drive PCB board is broken, and the PCB number is 2060-771853-000. What should we do? Should we directly find a data recovery company to restore the data or repair it by ourselves to save costs?
Three steps to repair a 2060-771853-000 WD PCB Board:
Step 1: Find a replacement PCB
Once you have confirmed that your hard drive failure is caused by the PCB, you can find a replacement PCB and replace it. The replacement PCB must have the same “PCB Number” as your original PCB (as shown in the image above).
Search with the number on our online shop and order it online. (For your convenience, you can click this link to order directly: 2060-771853-000 WD PCB Board)
Step 2: PCB Firmware Transfer
The PCB’s BIOS(as shown in the image above) includes hard drive’s UNIQUE configuration data (firmware). The hard drive needs this firmware to work. So in most cases, we have to transfer this BIOS chip from the original (bad) PCB to the replacement PCB.
Tips: Most of the TV/Phone/Electronic repair shop can offer this service for just $5-20.
Step 3: Recover & Backup Data
After receiving the PCB we mailed to you, you can install it yourself, or you can ask a professional to help you. After the PCB replacement process is finished! Connect your HDD to your PC and restart your computer, you will be able to recover data from your HDD now!
Note: Repairing a hard drive PCB can be a complex process and requires specialized knowledge and equipment. It is not recommended for inexperienced users to attempt it.
